The piece I drew centers around the idea of hospitals as a key support in the fabric of our society. I wanted to convey this idea in a visual metaphor of balance. In this piece, a community with its many distinct functions (agriculture, commerce, industry, government) is balanced upon the foundation of a healthy society as provided for by hospitals and the care providers who work within them.Â
